Electric-Mobility Club (Mechismu)
Workshop build · testing · competition
Engineering the future of electric mobility through design, development, testing and competition.
ABOUT THE CLUB
Built by students. Proven through competition.
MECHISMU Racing is the official automotive team of IIT(ISM) Dhanbad, composed of passionate undergraduate engineers dedicated to motorsport and automotive innovation. We design and build Formula Student prototypes, compete on international design platforms and develop complete vehicle systems that turn real-world engineering ambition into practical capability.
FORMULA STUDENT — THE CHALLENGE
Formula Student: design, build and race under real engineering constraints.
Formula Student challenges university teams to engineer high-performance formula-style race cars. Teams are evaluated through static events—design, cost analysis and business presentation—and dynamic events including acceleration, endurance and autocross, advancing efficiency, electric mobility, vehicle dynamics and real-world problem solving.

CURRENT PROJECTS
MREX-03, campus mobility and in-house EV technology.
MREX-03 builds on the full design-to-manufacture cycle of MREX-02, targeting a Top-5 finish at Formula Bharat through tighter powertrain integration, a modular battery pack, improved manufacturability, enhanced aerodynamics, and optimized driver ergonomics and packaging. Alongside it, the club is developing an 8-seater campus passenger EV, a Formula Student aerodynamic package, an in-house BMS, motor-controller concepts, battery-pack development and custom safety electronics.

MREX-03 — Next-generation Formula Student EV
Design evolution informed by validation, scrutineering feedback and real manufacturing constraints: refined powertrain integration, scalable battery architecture, improved assembly processes, increased downforce and more robust vehicle packaging.
Design for manufacturing · tolerance planning · early system-level validation · safety-margin analysis · modular, serviceable designs
8-Seater Passenger EV
A long-term campus-mobility initiative planned across approximately 2.5 years: about one year of design followed by manufacturing, intended to provide convenient student transport and reduce navigation time across campus.
Aerodynamic Package
End-to-end Formula Student aero development: Concept → CFD → Optimization → Composite Manufacturing → Validation, aimed at enhanced downforce, reduced drag and improved vehicle stability.
In-House Battery Management System
A proposed microcontroller and daisy-chained cell-monitoring architecture for adaptive balancing, predictive fault detection, lower wiring complexity and scalable, accurate battery supervision.
